Bobby joined the 5NEWS team in 2012 and has more than a decade of experience covering sports in Arkansas in print, radio and in television.

Bobby is a graduate of both Roland High School and the University of Central Arkansas. He acquired a degree in mass communications with an emphasis in television and was also a member of the Bears football team.

Not everyone gets to do what they love for a living but Bobby is doing just that, reporting on sports.

If he’s not doing “research” at an area sporting event, Bobby can be found at a local golf course or being a professional man of leisure.

    Southside appears to be peaking at just the right time as they raced out to a 15-point halftime lead and then took down Har-Ber 35-25 in the 7A-West. The Rebels offense had been struggling but the combination of Clay Tyler and Andrew Barley look to be hitting their stride. The two hooked up for a 10-yard touchdown in the closing minutes of the first half to give Southside a 28-13 lead.

Fayetteville rolled over Heritage 51-16 giving Patton his 100th career win at the school. Patton becomes the 14th active coach in Arkansas with 100 wins at their current school. Prairie Grove’s Danny Abshier, Mountainburg’s Tom Harrell and Greenwood’s Rick Jones are also on that list.

    For the second straight week the Northside defense looked mortal. But, for the second straight week the Grizzlies’ offense look to have super powers. Northside started slow but ran away from Springdale for a 55-35 win at Mayo-Thompson Stadium.

  • Prairie Grove Ends Skid With 30-13 Win Over Gentry

    There haven’t been many losing streaks for Prairie Grove in recent history but the Tigers made sure it ended at two in week eight. Prairie Grove jumped out to a 14-0 lead after a Bobby Catt touchdown and then held off Gentry, 30-13.

  • Vilonia Rallies Past Farmington

    Farmington looked to keep their postseason hopes alive against Vilonia in week eight but then the Eagles took flight. The Cardinals led 20-14 after Brice Waggle and Michael Ingram connected for a score but Vilonia rallied to score 13 straight points to steal a 27-20 win.

  • Hartford Falls In School’s Final Home Game

    Hartford had seen plenty of success through the years but times have been tough for the Hustlers of late. The school has struggled with having enough players to field and team and on Friday they hosted the last home game in the school’s history as they are being forced to consolidate with Hackett next year. Union Christian played spoilers though as the Eagles improved to 4-1 in the 2A-4 as they posted a 61-29 win.

Seth Brumley led a fierce rushing attack as Pea Ridge took down Prairie Grove 28-20 and notched their first win over the Tigers since the 2005 season.
