    Roland Runs Past Tahlequah Sequoyah

After winning the 3A-8 league title in week 10, the Roland offense looked to be rolling heading into the playoffs. And roll they did in the opening round of the 3A playoffs. The Rangers found the end zone on each of their first eight possessions as they ran away from Tahlequah Sequoyah for a 59-20 win. Manuel Bunch had a pair of first half scoring runs to propel the Rangers. Roland will face Checotah in the second round.

  • Shiloh Christian Slams Westside

Scoring early has been a trend for Shiloh Christian during the 2014 season and that trend continued in the opening round of the 4A playoffs. The Saints’ John-Marcus Caruthers broke away for a 42-yard score to jump on Jonesboro Westside early and Shiloh never looked back as they posted a 43-15 win. Shiloh Christian will travel to Pocahontas in the second round.

  • Prairie Grove Pulls Away From Lonoke

Prairie Grove was in unfamiliar territory in the opening round of the 4A playoffs. It had been a while since the Tigers weren’t the No. 1 seed out of the 4A-1 but that didn’t matter as they rolled past Lonoke 41-24. Prairie Grove, the No. 3 seed, got an early touchdown from Blake Faulk and they never looked back. The Tigers will face Nashville in the second round. The Scrappers had a bye in the opening round.
