Bobby joined the 5NEWS team in 2012 and has more than a decade of experience covering sports in Arkansas in print, radio and in television.

Bobby is a graduate of both Roland High School and the University of Central Arkansas. He acquired a degree in mass communications with an emphasis in television and was also a member of the Bears football team.

Not everyone gets to do what they love for a living but Bobby is doing just that, reporting on sports.

If he’s not doing “research” at an area sporting event, Bobby can be found at a local golf course or being a professional man of leisure.

    It had been more than four years since Bentonville had last lost a game in the 7A-West but that streak came to an end at the hands of Southside. The Rebels got a 32-yard interception return for a score and shut down the Tigers offense as Southside posted a 10-7 win in the conference opener.

    Greenwood Vaults By Van Buren

    Greenwood was held scoreless for the final two and a half quarters in week three at Northside. That wasn’t the case in the 7A/6A-Central opener at Van Buren. The Bulldogs scored early and often as they rolled to a 52-31 win at Blakemore Field.

  • Union Christian Mauls Magazine

    Magazine has had more than their fair share of success running the football in recent history but the Union Christian defense didn’t let that happen Friday night. The Eagles led 13-8 at the half but the defense threw a second half shutout and got a one yard touchdown run from quarterback Christian Snipes to give Union Christian the 20-8 win.

    Big Plays Lead Lamar Over Lavaca

    On paper it was one of the better games from the opening week of conference play. On the the field it quickly turned into another Lamar win. Lavaca saw the Warriors score on plays of 54, 55, 79, 75 and 83 yards in the first half as Lamar posted a 39-0 win.

  • Duarte’s Four Scores Lifts Gravette

    If you haven’t heard of Cedric Duarte by now, then you may want to do a little research on the Gravette running back. Duarte carried the Lions to a 41-6 win over Lincoln after rushing for four first half touchdowns in the 4A-1 opener.

  • Catholic Escapes Alma With 7-6 Win

    It was old school football at it’s finest but it was Little Rock Catholic who emerged with a win as they clipped Alma 7-6.

  • Prairie Grove Grinds Past Huntsville

    Prairie Grove took care of business in the opening week of 4A-1 play as they rolled past Huntsville 35-7. Tigers’ tight end Dylan Soehner hauled in a touchdown pass for the second straight week as they picked up a conference win heading to an interesting clash at Gravette next week.

  • Spiro’s Second Half Stops Roland

    It was likely a battle that will determine the 3A-8 title and it’s a league championship that Spiro took in the second half. The Bulldogs trailed 21-12 at intermission to rival Roland but 20 unanswered points pushed Spiro to a 32-21 win over the No. 9 ranked Rangers.
