Bobby joined the 5NEWS team in 2012 and dove right into the sports scene. He comes to us after spending more than eight years covering Arkansas sports for various print editions.

Bobby is a graduate of both Roland High School and the University of Central Arkansas. He acquired a degree in mass communications with an emphasis in television and was also a member of the Bears football team.

Not everyone gets to do what they love for a living but Bobby is doing just that, reporting on sports.

If he’s not doing “research” at an area sporting event, Bobby can be found at a local golf course or being a professional man of leisure.

    It was supposed to be a tuneup for next week’s 7A state championship but instead it turned into another easy win for Bentonville. The Tigers ran out to an early 14-0 lead and never looked back as they rumbled past North Little Rock for a 42-10 inside War Memorial Stadium. For the fourth time in the past five seasons, Bentonville will face rival Fayetteville in the state title game. Kickoff is scheduled for Noon on Dec. 6th.

    It was evident early that Charleston wasn’t going to be tested after their opening round bye. The Tigers’ starters were lifted midway through the first quarter as they coasted to a 41-14 win. Charleston has now won 26 straight games. Taylor King became the school’s all-time leader in receiving yards in the win and hauled in three first half touchdowns from Ty Storey. Charleston will host Osceola in the 3A quarterfinals.
