Bobby joined the 5NEWS team in 2012 and dove right into the sports scene. He comes to us after spending more than eight years covering Arkansas sports for various print editions.

Bobby is a graduate of both Roland High School and the University of Central Arkansas. He acquired a degree in mass communications with an emphasis in television and was also a member of the Bears football team.

Not everyone gets to do what they love for a living but Bobby is doing just that, reporting on sports.

If he’s not doing “research” at an area sporting event, Bobby can be found at a local golf course or being a professional man of leisure.

    After moving back to No. 1 in 7A, Fayetteville wasn’t going to give up their ranking after one week again. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 28-7 lead and rolled over Springdale 49-21. The Red Dogs fall to 0-6 on the season.

    It didn’t take long for Northside to get back on track after their first loss of the season. The Grizzlies jumped up on Heritage and never looked back as they posted a 49-10 win at Mayo-Thompson Stadium.

  • West Fork Stays Perfect In 3A-1

    West Fork continues to roll toward another conference championship as they coasted past Cedarville 34-8. Braydon Burnett gave the Tigers an early lead with a rushing touchdown then Dalton Dickson and Louis Crawford each found the end zone to put the Pirates in 20-0.

    Northside looked like the top ranked team in the state as they jumped out to a 13-0 lead. Bentonville then, finally, looked like the No. 1 ranked team in the preseason as they rallied for a 29-26 win to notch their first victory of the season.

  • Fayetteville Defense Shuts Down Southside

    Fayetteville and Southside have been involved in plenty of shootouts over the past decade. Friday’s night was an old fashioned defensive struggle. The traditional rivals battled to the fourth quarter scoreless but it was Fayetteville who finally broke the tie to take a 7-0 lead. Then the Bulldogs had to swat away a pass in the end zone on the final play of the game to preserve the win.
