Severe weather chances will ramp up later tonight across most of the area. Damaging winds, hail and isolated tornadoes will be possible tonight.
Snow will be possible late Tuesday afternoon and evening in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley.
Severe storms are expected by early afternoon with a threat of damaging winds and possible tornadoes.
The Storm Prediction Center has highlighted the entire area for the threat of severe storms Tuesday afternoon.
Temperatures over the weekend will start a slow warm-up before a more rapid warm-up early next week. Highs will be unseasonable warm in the low to mid 70′s setting the stage for a round of winter-time severe storms.
Most of the area continues in either a severe or extreme drought as we start the new year. A soaking rain mid-week will help start to put a dent in those drought conditions.
The work week is off to an unseasonably mild start, feeling more like Spring than Fall. An upper level storm system will track across the area giving us storm chances late Monday afternoon into the evening hours

After a late summer heat wave more reminiscent of mid-summer is about to come to an end as a strong cold moves through the area Friday night. Showers and storms will develop along this front throughout the afternoon hours and track into our area late Friday afternoon and evening.
After a fall-like weekend with cooler temperatures and widespread rain, the workweek will start off on a pleasant note. The jet stream continues a northwest to southeast movement and that is acting to filter in some cooler temps
