A man has died after an overnight house fire in Altus.
According to Franklin County Sheriff Anthony Boen a call came in around 2:15 a.m. Friday morning about a fire on the corner of Roseville and Smitherman in Altus.
Sheriff Boen says neighbors called 911 when they heard an explosion coming from the home. When firefighters arrived the home was completely engulfed in flames.
One person who was inside the home at the time of the fire has now died. The victim was identified by Sheriff Boen as Brian Darter.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Arkansas State Police and the Franklin County Sherriff’s Office are currently investigating the incident.
