The Clarksville Panthers turned in a performance for the ages to claim their second straight 4A state title, beating Pulaski Academy 93-73.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. -- The Clarksville Panthers turned in a performance for the ages to claim their second straight 4A state title, beating Pulaski Academy 93-73.

The Panthers never wavered. After finishing the first quarter tied at 17, Clarksville scored 30 points in the second quarter to lead 47-30 at halftime.

That quarter put the game away, as the teams played basically even in the second half.

Freddy Lee led the Panthers with 28 points to go with five assists. Deven Simms had 23 and 11 rebounds. Kendrick Lee scored 16, and future Hoop Hog Dederick Lee had 15.

The Panthers shot 52 percent from the floor, including 45 percent from behind the arc, and committed just six turnovers.

Amazingly, Pulaski Academy's Dusty Hannahs had 43 points, and his team still lost by 20.

Clarksville finishes the season 30-5 overall, and were a perfect 14-0 in conference play.
