Northside Falls to Cabot in 7A Title Game

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. -- The Northside Lady Bears fell to the Cabot Lady Panthers, 51-41, Saturday afternoon in the 7A girls state basketball championship.

Northside held the lead after one quarter, 14-13, but were outscored 14-7 in the second quarter to trail by six at halftime.

Cabot opened the second half on a 6-2 run, but back-to-back threes from Jill Myers and Olivia Hanson helped the Lady Bears keep the deficit at six going into the final quarter.

But in the fourth quarter, Cabot and future Razorback Melissa Wolff proved to be too tough. Wolff had 22 points on the day, and hit a late jumper to help the Lady Panthers seal the win.

Kilah Cummings led Northside scorers with 13 points to go with 10 rebounds. Bria Caldwell had nine, and Hanson had eight.

The Lady Bears finish the season 29-2.
