HOT SPRINGS, Ark. -- The Farmington Lady Cardinals lost to the Star City Lady Bulldogs, 56-34, Saturday afternoon in the 4A girls state basketball championship.
Farmington found itself in a 16-8 hole after one quarter, and could not climb out of it. They trailed 30-16 at halftime, though they outscored Star City 13-12 in the third quarter to trail 42-29.
The Lady Bulldogs pulled away in the fourth, starting the quarter with a 10-0 run, as the Lady Cardinals were only able to score five points in the final frame.
Tiffany Rhame led Farmington scorers with 10 points, and Lexie Lewis finished with eight.
