Razorback Basketball Season Over

The 2011-12 Arkansas basketball season is officially over after not receiving a bid to play in any postseason tournament.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The 2011-12 Arkansas basketball season is officially over after not receiving a bid to play in any postseason tournament.

A late-season swoon killed any chance at an NCAA tournament berth, and a first-round loss to LSU in the SEC tournament made a National Invitational Tournament bid unlikely.

Lastly, the 16-team College Basketball Invitational passed on the Razorbacks, though no SEC team has ever competed in the history of the tournament.

Arkansas finishes 18-14 overall in Mike Anderson’s first year, including 17-4 at home and 6-10 in SEC play. Freshman B.J. Young led the team in scoring with just over 15 points per game.
