There is new information on a man who was shot in Springdale after a fit of road rage. According to police, the victim was able to give them a license plate number of the man behind the wheel of the other car.
Today police searched for clues as to what led to this incident. Officers say another man shot 29-year-old Steve Tinsley on Thompson Street and 71 Plaza Court near AAF.
What ended in gunshot actually only began two miles away.
“Tinsley was actually on Zion Road and merged onto 71 Business and the other vehicle was behind him and was tailgating him from there until he sideswiped him at Lewis and Clark,” Lieutenant Kevin Lewis, Springdale Police Department.
Officers say the man kept tailgating Tinsley, and sideswiped him again. Tinsley pulled off Thompson into the AAF parking lot. But according to police, the suspect followed, got out of his car, and shot Tinsley twice in the hip.
Despite his injuries, Tinsley got back in his car and followed the man, taking down a license plate number.
Police believe that information has led them to a suspect.
We’ve got people that we want to talk to and find out if it was there car. There’s going to be front end damage to the car. That car isn’t local so we are going to have to travel to do that,” Lieutenant Lewis.
The suspect is believed to be a Hispanic male in his thirties driving a white sports car with front end damage.
According to police, a man was shot after a road rage incident in Springdale Sunday night.
Police say the shooting occurred in the 2400 block of South Thompson Street, near the intersection of South Morlan Avenue around 9 p.m.
The victim was identified as Steven Tinsley, 29, of Fayetteville.
Police say they are looking for a Hispanic man in his mid 30s last seen driving a white sports car that has front-end damage.
Tinsley was taken to Northwest Medical Center with two wounds to his hip area.
