One Man Arrested in Club Stabbing

Springdale Police arrested Erson Rechim, 26, on battery charges after a stabbing at a local club early Sunday morning.

Rechim told police he was acting in self-defense after being jumped by four or five people, including two men who were left with stab wounds after the incident.

Police say one man was stabbed in the left side of the chin and also had a large open stab wound in his left arm. Another man was also stabbed in the back.

The stabbing occurred around 3:30 a.m. at The Congo. Both men were transported to Northwest Medical Center in Springdale.

Neither of their injuries were life threatening.
