According to police, a Fayetteville man was arrested for kidnapping and chaining up his girlfriend.

Police say Nehemiah Hicks, 28, had kidnapped and chained up his girlfriend, Brady Swilley.

Police say they went to Hicks’ house after a friend let them know she had not heard from Swilley in about a week.

When police arrived to the house on Monday, Swilley told police that about a week and a half before that she was visiting a friend and agreed to meet Hicks. She said they talked in his vehicle outside of the friend’s house.

During that time, Swilley told police that Hicks showed her a gun and told her that if she ever left him he would shoot her. He also told her that he would hurt her in front of police.

Swilley told police that for about a week and half Hicks used a dog chain to keep her from trying to leave the residence. She also said at night he would chain her up then lock the chain to himself.

Police say she had bruising around her left eye. Swilley believed that if she tried to leave Hicks would harm her or her family.

Police confiscated an animal chain, five grams of cocaine, shotgun and two handguns, one of which was stolen.

Hicks has been arrested on charges including Kidnapping, Terroristic Threatening and Possession of Drugs.
