Employees of an area bank hit the streets Wednesday to perform random acts of kindness.

The Iberiabank Corporation celebrated its 125 anniversary by giving away twelve and a half thousand dollars of free gas at random pumps.

They’re hoping the kindness becomes contagious, encouraging others to "pay it forward" with their own acts of kindness.

With gas prices on the rise, a few lucky drivers were obviously pleased.

"I think this is the greatest thing ever because I'm poor. I picked a good time to get gas apparently," said one driver.

Another driver said, "It's awesome, you know. You can always use twenty bucks no matter what."

"This is great, I mean I was just thinking what a nice beautiful day and then I get twenty dollars worth of gas? That's great; it makes my day and definitely makes you want to be nice to somebody else," said one driver.

The Iberiabank anniversary celebration continues through April 30 with a six week long Ipad giveaway at each branch location.
