Here’s a snapshot of next Tuesday’s weather: March 21st. I’m continuing to track a developing upper level storm system that will plow into a very moist and rich airmass.
The jet stream is expected to break off a loop of low pressure around west Texas and west Oklahoma. As surface low pressure develops in response to the upper storm feature, heavy bands of rain and severe weather will develop. It’s still too early to pinpoint the exact location of heavy rain or highest severe potential but next week looks very stormy with several rounds of rain look likely. Rainfall totals could exceed 4″.
In the short term… A few rain showers will be possible each afternoon both Friday, Saturday, & Sunday. It looks like a few storms that begin in west Oklahoma could make a run at our region late Friday night but should be fading by the time they arrive leading to scattered areas of rain with no severe potential.
