Volunteers sack up groceries in Fort Smith as they get set for the 22nd annual Grocery Giveaway this weekend at Evangel Temple.

Pastor Don Hutchings says it’s a little easier this year.  He says there were only six volunteers available last year to sack items.  This year, he says a lot of young people have come to help, giving up part of their Spring Break.

Hutchings expects more than 1,000 people to show up for help on Sunday.

“There’s no shame in asking for help,” Hutchings says.  “Come and get your food.  No questions asked.  We just want to bless you.”

The Grocery Giveaway starts at 10 a.m.
