Springdale Man Dies After Being Hit by Car on Highway

A Springdale man dies after being hit by a car on Highway 264 East of Old Wire Road around 5 a.m Saturday, police said.

According to police, Daniel Morris of Lowell was driving a Toyota Matrix and told police he had hit a man standing in the middle of the road.

When police arrived on scene, Junior Alik, 26, of Springdale was lying in the ditch on the north side of the road unconscious.

Police said Morris tried to swerve to avoid Alik but didn't see him in time. Alik was transported to Northwest Medical Center.
