Naturals Drop 4th Straight

The Naturals are shut down at the plate in another home loss.

Springdale—Thursday night it was poor pitching, Friday night it was a lack of hitting as the Northwest Arkansas Naturals extended their losing streak to four games while falling to 0-2 in their season opening homestand at Arvest Ballpark.

Corpus Christi starter Jose Cisnero baffled the Naturals for six innings allowing just three hits enroute to a 12-2 decision over Northwest Arkansas.

A two-run 9th allowed the home team to avoid a shut out as the Naturals touched Hooks reliever Josh Zeid for a pair of runs.

Kurt Mertins drove in Sharlon Schoop with a sac fly. Ben Theriot’s RBI single closed out the scoring in the game.

With the loss Northwest Arkansas sits at the bottom of the Texas League North with a 2-5 record.

Game three of the current series with Corpus Christi is set to start at  7 p.m. The Naturals will send Justin Marks (1-0, 0.00 against Brett Oberholtzer (0-0, 6.23).
