A manager in training at a Fort Smith Sonic claims he was robbed at gunpoint Monday night.

Police were called to the Sonic located at 529 N. Greenwood Avenue just after 11 p.m.

The manager in training told police that when his brother arrived to give him a ride home, he placed the bank bag in the passenger seat of his vehicle. He then went to put some boxes in the dumpster behind the restaurant.

The manager told police an armed black man appeared from behind the dumpster. The suspect allegedly asked for the money and grabbed the bank bag from the vehicle, according to the police report.

The manager says the suspected robber ran to a white four door passenger car believed to be a Toyota and got into the passenger seat.

According to the police report, the manager and his brother followed the vehicle to the intersection near the Suzy “Q” bar. The suspect vehicle was last seen headed north on Greenwood Avenue, police say.

The alleged robber is described 5’6” and 135 lbs. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, red and white tennis shoes believed to be “Air Jordan’s,” and a red bandana covering his face. The driver is described as a heavy set black man with dreadlocks.
