UAFS Takes Heartland Conference Crown at Hardscrabble Country Club

The Heartland Conference golf tournament had an exciting finish on Tuesday at the Hardscrabble Country Club in Ft. Smith, as 2 U-A Ft. Smith Lions finished tied at 3 over for the tournament, and took each-other on in a sudden death hole on their home course.

Lions Matt McKown and Josh Buchanan were tied at 213 at the end of regulation, and on the sudden-death hole, Buchanan was short on the birdie putt, and parred the hole. McKown, the Van Buren native, putted in a 13-footer for the birdie, and the win. McKown won medalist honors by taking the sudden death hole.

The Lion men won the Heartland Conference Golf tournament overall.
