OXFORD, Miss. — The Arkansas baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader Saturday to Ole Miss, 8-2 in the first game and 1-0 in the second.

Game one was a resumption of Friday’s game, delayed by rain. The game started in the fourth with Ole Miss on top, 6-1.

The Rebels added to the lead in the fifth when Matt Snyder hit his second home run of the game. Jimmy Bosco answered for Arkansas with a home run of his own in the sixth.

Ole Miss added their final run on an Alex Yarbrough double in the bottom of the sixth.

Starter Brandon Moore took the loss, last just 2.1 innings and giving up six runs on seven hits. Randall Fant pitched in relief, allowing two runs on seven hits in 5.2 innings.

Game two was almost a total opposite.

Ryne Stanek defined “hard-luck loser,” going 6.1 innings and striking out two while giving up just one run. That run came in the sixth when Alex Yarbrough drove in Andrew Mistone for what proved to be the game-winning run.

The Razorbacks had a chance in the seventh with runners on first and second and one out, but Derrick Bleeker grounded into a double play to end the inning. In the eighth, Arkansas had the tying run at third with two outs, but Tim Carver grounded out to end the inning.

Arkansas will send D.J. Baxendale to the mound on Sunday to avoid the sweep. Ole Miss has not announced a starter. First pitched is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
