This weekend only, characters from the Renaissance period come to life right here in Northwest Arkansas. The Renaissance and Fantasy Faire of the Ozarks is in Fayetteville until Sunday.

The Faire allows visitors to step back into an age of sorcerers, kings, queens, and knights in shining armor.

This event is family friendly and provides entertainment for all ages. Vendors, food, sword fights and belly dancers are just a few of the attractions the Faire has to offer.

"Our shows are family oriented," says Event Organizer, Margaret Rivera. "We have a children's realm where the kids can do some arts and crafts and play the games. Of course we have the children's knighting. We are going to have dancing later on. It is just family fun."

If you missed out on the fun Saturday, you are in luck because the Renaissance and Fantasy Faire does not end until Sunday at 6 p.m.

The Faire is being held at the NWA Riding Club located next to the Washington County Fair Grounds in Fayetteville.

Gates open again Sunday at 10 a.m.
