Naturals Beat Travelers Again

The Naturals win again in the Diamond Series.

Springdale–The streaking Northwest Arkansas Naturals pulled to .500 on the season after a 4-3 come-from-behind win over the Arkansas Travelers while extending the team’s winning streak to six straight.

The Travelers (9-13) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a monster home run by Matt Long off of Naturals starter Chris Dwyer. Adam Heether followed with an RBI single to put Arkansas up 2-0.

Northwest Arkansas (11-11) pulled to within a run in the second on a sacrifice fly to left center by Paulo Orlando.

The Naturals tied the score in the fourth on yet another sacrifice fly, this one by Carlo Testa.

Johny Whittleman doubled in Wil Meyers in the 5th to the put the Naturals in front 3-2.

The two teams traded runs in the sixth. The Travs got a sacrifice fly from Rian Kiniry.  Orlando’s RBI single in the bottom of the inning brought  Yem Prades home providing the Naturals with the winning margin.

Game three of the series is Sunday afternoon. First pitch comes at 2:00 p.m. Jake Odorizzi (2-1, 4.08) will get the start for Northwest Arkansas opposite Johnny Hellweg (0-1, 5.32) for the Travs.
