Bleeker Powers Razorbacks to Win
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Arkansas Razorbacks won their third straight game Tuesday night, 6-3 over Missouri in non-conference action at Baum Stadium.
The win moves the Hogs to 32-13 overall.
Derrick Bleeker was the star for Arkansas, going 3-for-3 with two runs batted in and two runs scored. He also reached base all four times he came to the plate, with two doubles, a triple and a walk.
Arkansas struck first in the bottom of the first. After Tim Carver led off with a single and advanced to third on a hit-and-run, Dominic Ficociello lifted a sacrifice fly to center to score Carver.
The Razorbacks then broke it open in the third. Mahan led off with a walk, then after an infield single by Matt Reynolds, Bo Bigham bounced a grounder up the middle the shortstop couldn’t handle. Mahan scored the first of four runs in the inning.
Two batters later, Bleeker cleared the bases with a two run triple to right. John Clay Reeves finished the scoring with a base hit to center to score Bleeker.
The Hogs added one more in the sixth. After Bleeker led off with a double, Jacob Morris scored him two batters later with a double of his own.
Nolan Sanburn started for the Hogs and got the win for four shutout innings, giving up just one hit and striking out seven.
The series concludes Wednesday at 3:05 p.m. Junior left-hander Trent Daniel (1-0, 4.70) will start for the Hogs. Freshman righty John Miles goes for Missouri.
