The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks has been operating for five years.

Since its inception, the facility has grown like the flowers in the garden, into a gorgeous place to be.

The Botanical Garden is a volunteer driven, privately funded non-profit organization, and stays in business by holding fundraisers.

According to Marketing Director Liz Esch, there's a big one blooming Thursday night.

“It's the 17th annual Greening of the Garden and it's our biggest fundraiser of the year. It's very important because it raises money for education, and also operations,” said Esch.

Since the Botanical Gardens receives no state or federal funds, fundraisers like the ''Greening of the Garden'' event are essential to the growth of the garden, and keeping up the day-to-day maintenance.

While the fundraiser is a party, Esch says the mission to raise money is serious business.

Tickets to tonight's event are $75. Entry includes dinner, live music, and a live auction.

Now that you’re reeled in, you’re likely wondering, what do you where to a garden party?

Esch says keep it casual.

“It’s an enchanted evening and it's garden casual. One thing about the garden is that we're a unique venue and you can walk around and have a cocktail.”

Dinner will be catered by Tavola Trattoria, and there will be big tents set up to either block the sun, or keep you dry.

Even if you can’t make the event you can support the Botanical Garden, just head over to www.bgozarks.org
