A second TV ad featuring former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee began running in Texas this month for Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, according to the Texas Tribune. Dewhurst is a U.S. Senate candidate.

Huckabee is accustomed to helping conservative candidates around the country.

Two years ago, for instance, he endorsed Chuck Fleischmann in the Chattanooga attorney’s race for Tennessee’s 3rd Congressional District seat.

Huckabee became involved in that race at the request of Chip Saltsman, who managed Huckabee’s 2008 presidential campaign. By 2010, Saltsman was Fleischmann’s campaign manager.

With the help of Huckabee’s endorsement, Fleischmann won the GOP primary in Southeast Tennessee, then defeated another Chattanooga attorney, John Wolfe, a Democrat, in the general election.

Saltsman went to work for Fleischmann in Washington, D.C.

Two years after losing the congressional race in Tennessee, Wolfe now is the only Democrat on Tuesday’s ballot in Arkansas challenging President Obama in the state’s presidential primary election.
