A Springdale man was arrested Monday after he allegedly exposed himself to a child in a park over the weekend.

Wesley Neil Williams, 44, is facing charges of sexual indecency with a child and probation violation.

Officers were sent to the Grove Street Park on Saturday around 11:30 a.m. in reference to a 9-year-old boy claiming a man exposed his genitals to the child in the bathroom.

The victim also told police the man asked him an inappropriate question.

Police say the boy locked himself and his 5-year-old brother in the stall and waited for the man to leave. The police were called after the boy notified his mother.

According to the police report, the victim was able to point out the man as he left the park. A witness followed the suspect and was able to get a vehicle license plate number.

Police used the number to identify Williams as the suspect.

At the time of his arrest, Williams was on probation for sexual indecency with a child, police say.
