Joe’s Blog: Severe Weather Chances Return Wednesday Night

This is an archived article and the information in the article may be outdated. Please look at the time stamp on the story to see when it was last updated.

Round 3 of showers and thunderstorms will take aim at the area once again late Wednesday night into the early hours of Thursday morning. Storms will develop in Kansas and Oklahoma late Wednesday afternoon and form into a southeast moving complex. High resolution models are depicting this complex of storms diving southeast late Wednesday night arriving in our area after midnight.

This complex will arrive after midnight with a damaging winds threat. The highest instability will remain in southwest Oklahoma where they can expect very large hail Wednesday night.

This complex of storms will bring a good chance of widespread rain to the area. A widespread 1 inch of rain is possible for the entire area with localized places picking up a little more than that.

An afternoon update to the blog is planned.
