Family members of a missing Fort Smith man wait for answers to his disappearance after his car is found abandoned in rural Sequoyah County.
Investigators say foul play could be involved.
On June 19, investigators found Glen Cook Jr.’s car abandoned in the Muldrow bottoms near Mayo Dam.
"I just feel somebody knows something, and somebody just needs to put us out of our family misery," said Cook’s sister, Kim Liles.
Liles says she doesn’t know why her brother went there.
"He took a lot of medication,” said Liles. “He's been off his medications, so there's no telling."
She says Cook is a paranoid schizophrenic. Family members say it's possible he went to the bottoms to meet someone.
"I feel there's probably people out there that knows more than what they're coming out and saying," said Liles.
Fort Smith Police and Sequoyah County Deputies searched the river banks and surrounding areas where Cook's car was found. They also went out in boats to search after a noodler told police he thought he felt a human leg in the water.
"We follow up on everything and at this point, we really don't have anything to follow up on right now," said Cpl. Steven Dooly with Fort Smith Police.
Liles remains hopeful her brother is still alive, but wants answers.
"It's one way or the other,” said Liles. “We don't have an answer for either way."
Police say they have no leads in this missing person’s case.
