A sweet Samaritan, Kennedy Bobbitt, an 11-year-old from Fayetteville used her birthday party to help out homeless animals.

Kennedy invited all her friends to a lemonade stand, then she donated all the money she made to the Fayetteville animal shelter.

She had a pretty steady flow of people come through, mostly from her neighborhood.

For 50 cents, you could enjoy an ice cold cup of lemonade or a cookie. She also had homemade dog biscuits.

Kennedy said the idea stemmed from her love of animals.

"I like animals and was trying to make the animal shelter a no kill animal, which is where after the animals don't get adopted they don't kill them but they raise them themselves," Kennedy said.

Kennedy raised $515 that she'll donate.
