5NEWS has an opening for our Weekday Morning/Noon Meteorologist Position. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience covering severe storms and forecasting winter weather. Weather affects everyone… all the time. Expect to lead newscasts on a simple rainy day, a foggy day, or a drought. You must be a team player with strong communication and problem solving skills.  You should be willing to challenge the status quo and ready to grow professionally & personally.

We’re less interested in your ability to explain fluid dynamics or FORTRAN and more interested in a strong story teller & forecaster who can communicate whether or not it’s going to rain tomorrow.

Physical Requirements: Ability to communicate using voice, site and hearing for reporting and gathering weather. Ability to use telephone, radios and other equipment in gathering weather news. Dexterity for the operation of keys and buttons on computers, and other such equipment.

Statement about Other Duties: The foregoing is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all functions essential to the job for which the employee is responsible, nor an exhaustive list of the minimum requirements and specifications necessary to perform the essential functions, including all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, efforts, or working conditions associated with the job.  While this is intended to be an accurate reflection of the current job, management reserves the right to revise the job or to require that other or different functions be performed when circumstances change or exigencies require it.
