Officials have identified the woman who drowned saving her teenage at Beaver Lake on Saturday.

Her name is Kimberly Weaber, 39.

Bland said her son was swimming in the lake near the Monte Ne area when he "ran into trouble". When Weaber jumped in to save him, she went under as well, Bland said.

Bland says the son survived.

"She went down and then a bystander saved her son... and he's alright," Bland said.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office, Coroner, EMS and Army Corps of Engineers all responded to the scene, along with the Bethel Heights, Lowell and Rogers Fire Departments.

The drowning was reported about 9:45 a.m. Saturday. Weaber's body was found about two hours later.

Those swimming near the area Saturday called Weaber's actions heroic.

"I would do it for one of my kids," Regina Davis said. "If I could save them I would risk everything."
