Thunderstorms and heavy rain are pounding Northwest Arkansas, keeping emergency crews and power companies busy.

Traffic on Interstate 540 near Johnson slowed after a pickup truck crashed through guardrails and rested in the median. No injuries were reported.

Another car accident on the interstate brought emergency crews out and left a man with neck pains.

Heavy rains flooded the sides of roads in Washington County. Firefighters are responding to several fire alarms in Springdale.

Southwest Electric Power Company reported 268 customers without power before restoring service to all customers in Washington County at about 1:30 p.m. Ozarks Electric has restored power to most customers after initially reporting there were more than 500 customers without electricity.
