The Wal-Mart Foundation announced Tuesday that it is investing $3.35 million into a partnership with six women’s foundations to help economically vulnerable women.
The purpose of the joint venture, called the Partnership for Women’s Prosperity, is to help women who are economically vulnerable to gain financial and economic security through education, job training and employment opportunities.
The Wal-Mart Foundation’s $3.35 million in grants are intended to assist 5,000 women and girls in 16 communities across the U.S. The grants will fund programs that offer such services as job training, teaching on how to reduce debt and save money and General Educational Development classes.
