Police Lose Trail Of Attempted Armed Robber

Police said they lost the trail of a man suspected of trying to rob a liquor store in West Siloam Springs, Okla.

The suspect may have fled over the state line into Siloam Springs on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Police tried to set up a perimeter in the area, but could not find the suspect. Siloam Springs police said they were not sure whether the suspect was still in the area.

Officers and deputies from Siloam Springs, West Siloam Springs and the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office had gathered to look for the suspect. Siloam Springs police pulled their officers from the search early Wednesday night to save on resources.

John Brown University sent out a campus alert at 3:55 p.m. saying that police were in pursuit of an armed robber and that the suspect was last seen in the Siloam Springs Bible Church area. The report said the suspect was wearing a white hoodie and red Budweiser pants.

The suspect attempted to rob State Line Liquor with a handgun, according to the Siloam Springs Police Department. No injuries were reported.

The wanted man is about 5-foot-7 and weighs approximately 125 pounds.
