Two Northwest Arkansas men were arrested Monday for stealing large amounts of copper wire from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Mickey Earl Huffard, 34, of Gravette, and Justin Eugene Phillips, 24, of Rogers, are being held at the Benton County Detention Center on charges of theft of property and breaking and entering.

Rogers police received information that Huffard and Phillips were arrested with the wire in the back of a truck at the 8th Street Motel.

Police say the copper wire was stolen from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers located at 2260 North 2nd Street in the overnight hours of Aug. 12-13.

The stolen property was returned to the Corps of Engineers.
