A Benton County man was sentenced to spend the next decade in prison after pleading guilty Monday to sexually assaulting a minor.
Seth Moises Loyola, 36, pleaded guilty to felony second degree sexual assault as part of a plea deal with prosecutors. Loyola received a 10-year sentence, along with an additional 10 years of a suspended sentence once he is released.
Loyola also gave up the rights to his children and will have to register as a sex offender after he is released from prison.
Prosecutors struck a deal with Loyola because the victim did not want to testify in court, said Bonnie Bridges, Benton County deputy prosecutor.
Bridges said Loyola could have received up to 20 years in prison and/or a $15,000 fine if the case had gone to trial.
Centerton police arrested Loyola in June 2011.
