Arvest Bank Damage – Suspect

Cleon Omengebar, 40, of Van Buren, was arrested Friday morning for leaving the scene of a property damage accident after he allegedly drove the  wrong way into a bank drive-thru, damaging one of the bank deposit tubes.

The incident happened Aug. 25 at the Arvest Bank on Midland Boulevard, according to police.

Surveillance cameras show the man driving into a service lane, against the normal flow of traffic and hitting the deposit tube at the drive-thru. The suspect attempted to use the ATM, but his transactions were unsuccessful, police said. The man left the area possibly traveling south on Midland Boulevard.

Omengebar went to the Fort Smith Police Department to speak with a detective after an officer identified him from the surveillance photo. He was cited and released.
