Firefighters worked to put out a brush fire on River Road near Lavaca Thursday evening.
The fire is believed to have sparked from a downed power line in that area, according to Sebastian County Sheriff Bill Hollenbeck.
The fire moved southwest from Lavaca, according to firefighters on the scene. The sheriff's deputies went door-to-door to houses in Central City to make residents aware of the fire. However, the area was not evacuated, said Deputy Philip Pevehouse.
No structures were damaged in the fire, according the the sheriff's office.
Sebastian County is currently under a burn ban.
