Police say a mom stabbed her son in the hand while he was at Lingle Middle School in Rogers on Thursday.

Tina Marie Schofield-Starks, 45, was arrested in connection with felony domestic battery. Police say she stabbed her 12-year-old son in the hand with a pen while he was in school.

The school had disciplined the boy for stabbing classmates in the hands with pens, police said. Schofield-Starks came to the school Thursday to give her son his medication, then stabbed him in the hand, asking him how it felt, according to the Rogers Police Department.

The boy was treated for a bleeding hand.

Schofield-Starks remains in the Benton County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
