Bella Vista has a new health care clinic coming next year.

Mercy Northwest Arkansas broke ground Thursday morning on a new multi-specialty clinic at Dartmoor Drive and Lambeth Road in Bella Vista.

More than 100 community members attended the ceremony. Melba Shewmaker and the Shewmaker family made a $1.5 million donation to Mercy Bella Vista.  Mercy recognized the Shewmaker family and their generosity by naming the Bella Vista location the “Shewmaker Family Campus.”

Mercy Bella Vista will be 30,000 square foot facility housing urgent care, imaging and laboratory service, family and internal medicine, cardiology, pediatrics along with other specialties.

It is expected to open in Fall 2013.

The new facility is part of Mercy’s community master plan unveiled last September. In all, Mercy has plans to spend an estimated $90 million in capital projects and improvements over the next seven years in Northwest Arkansas, according to Mercy officials.
