A phoned-in bomb threat at the Arkansas Department of Correction Parole/Probation building at 3416 N. College Ave. at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday led Fayetteville police to clear the building while searching for an explosive. Officers did not find a bomb and cleared workers to return at 8:37 a.m., Sgt. Craig Stout, police spokesman, said.

“Nothing suspicious was found,” Stout said.

He said the investigation into the bomb threat is continuing.

“We’re following up on it and are trying to find out who did it,” Stout said.

The caller left a phone message early Tuesday at the parole and probation office saying he had planted a bomb in the past 12 hours and would call back in three hours, Stout said. That call prompted the evacuation.
