The 2nd Annual Toys for Tots Charity Golf Tournament teed off at the Springdale Country Club on Monday and it was a huge success all around.

"This year we had 18 teams, which is quite a bit more than last year, so we are very excited about that," said John Staples, the NWA Toys for Tots Coordinator.

Golfers who brought presents on top of their donation were awarded mulligans towards their golf game. The participants were also able to take part in a silent auction prior to tee off.

"We have autographed items and memorabilia that folks can bid on for a silent auction," said Staples. "All the proceeds go to purchasing toys for disadvantaged children and everything that you see from a silent auction stand point has been donated by local businesses around the area."

The golfers and donators had a chance to meet former Razorback and Buffalo Bills quarterback Joe Ferguson as he returned again this year to be the charities guest host.

"This one is a special golf tournament because it provides entertainment, prizes and presents for children at Christmas for Toys for Tots and it makes them happy," Ferguson said. "This is a great way to give back to the community and help families in the area."

All in all the tournament raised a little over $10,000 for the Toys for Tots foundation.
