John Brown University reported record enrollment numbers in a statement released Friday morning.

The Siloam Springs college reported its official fall enrollment at 2,176 students, a 2 percent increase over last year’s fall report. University officials said the school retained 84 percent of its students from last fall’s enrollment report.

Administrators believe the modest growth is partially due to families looking for affordable post-secondary options, said Don Crandall, vice president for enrollment.

John Brown has a base tuition of $20,796.

The most popular majors among university students remains engineering, followed by graphic and web design, and family and human services.
