Passenger Killed in Lowell Car Accident

One person died in a two-vehicle accident in Lowell on Friday night.

Police and emergency workers responded at about 6:40 p.m. to a traffic accident on Highway 71 Business near Robinson Avenue.

A driver traveling north lost control and struck another vehicle, according to the Lowell Police Department. A passenger in the car with the driver who lost control was killed. Police would not immediately release the name of the victim.

Police from Lowell, Rogers and Bethel Heights diverted traffic away from the scene and onto side roads.

No other injuries were reported.
