Former Arkansas player Jackie Brasuell has been selected as the A Club honorary captain for Saturday’s game against Rutgers.

Brasuell, who passed away earlier this month, will be represented on the field Saturday by his son.

The former Van Buren pointer was a three time letterman at Arkansas and was a team captain in 1965.

Brasuell was a three-year letterwinner for the Razorbacks from 1963-65, including serving as a team captain for the ‘65 squad.

A two-time All-Southwest Conference selection, Brasuell finished his career with 795 rushing yards, 271 receiving yards, 72 tackles and two interceptions. Brasuell was inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Honor in 2007.

Brasuell was on the 1964 team that finished 11-0 and won the Razorbacks’ only national title.
