Motorcyclist “Critical” After Face Collides with Truck

A man was in critical condition late Friday morning after the motorcycle he was driving crashed on the interstate in Bentonville, launching him into a truck.

Jere White, 57, slowed down quickly while behind a flatbed pickup truck on Interstate 540 near Exit 86 in Bentonville. White lost control of the motorcycle, which flew off into the median. White was ejected from the motorcycle and slammed his face and head into the bumper of the truck, according to Arkansas State Police.

He was airlifted to a head trauma specialist in Springfield, Mo., police said.

The crash occurred at about 10:30 a.m., according to the Bentonville Fire Department.
