A former University of Arkansas football player was arrested Tuesday after police say he made a death threat on Twitter.
Bret Jerrod Harris, 23, was arrested on suspicion of terroristic threatening. He remained in the Washington County Detention Center on Wednesday night on $20,000 bond. He has a court date set for Nov. 2.
Police said Harris threatened the football team’s trainer on Twitter by saying, “Hey Matt, remember I checked your bitchass for questioning me?” and, “You set me up to be placed in Springwood. I am going to kill you,” according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.
Springwood is a behavioral health facility in Fayetteville, according to Springwood’s website.
Harris played linebacker for four seasons for the Razorbacks, ending his career in 2011.
