A naked man was found beating on the windows of a downtown Fort Smith business in 40 degree weather early Sunday morning, according to police.

Officers were dispatched to 5th and Garrison Avenue around 4 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived, they found Jeffrey Trent Cargill, 27, of Talihina, Okla., completely naked and stopping traffic, according to a police report.

Cargill, who appeared ‘highly intoxicated,’ chased one of the police cars that was dispatched to the scene, the report states.

The man was ‘babbling incoherently,’ according to the officer, so he was placed under arrest for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Cargill kicked and yelled from the back of the cop car while an officer located a pair of shorts and a cell phone nearby, the report states. One of the officers called a number in the phone labeled as “Mom.”

Through the phone call to his mother and a description of tattoos and a photo of the naked man found on the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), officers were able to identify Cargill.

Cargill was taken to the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center, all the while screaming about terrorists and Marines, the police report states.
