Mark Moore, an independent candidate seeking an open state House seat in northern Benton County, has picked up a second endorsement from a conservative political action committee in his race against a Republican opponent.

Moore, vying for the newly created District 95 seat against Sue Scott, recently was endorsed by Arkansas Right to Life. The Little Rock-based PAC sent a mailer out Friday noting its endorsements, including its selection of Moore.

Moore also has been endorsed by the PAC Conservative Arkansas.

Arkansas Right to Life and Conservative Arkansas usually endorse Republicans, but Scott, wife of Benton County Circuit Judge John Scott, neglected to fill out either PAC’s candidate questionnaire. Neither group endorses candidates who do not fill out the candidate questionnaire.

On Monday, Arkansas Right to Life’s executive director, Rose Mimms, said Moore filled out the questionnaire, answering “yes” to each of the PAC’s five questions.

The questions are:

1. Do you support the reversal of the Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions, so that elected legislative bodies may once again protect unborn children by limiting or prohibiting abortion?

2. Will you support legislation to protect pain-capable unborn children from death by abortion?

3. Will you support the amendment of Act 1189 to require that before an abortion, the abortionist perform an ultrasound and display the ultrasound images so that the mother may view the images?

4. Will you vote to add strong abortion exclusion language to any legislation that would define a specific package of health care benefits so that Arkansas could opt-out of abortion coverage?

5. Will you vote to prohibit the use of telemedicine to provide abortion?

The election is Nov. 6. Moore and Scott are the only candidates on the ballot in the District 95 race.
