Hundreds of people headed out to Wiederkehr Village Saturday for the 49th Annual Weinfest.

They spent the day touring the wine cellars, sampling different wines, playing games and spending time with family and friends.

"I came out with one of my friends and like I said we're just enjoying the day," said Krisitina Villines. "It's a nice, cool day and we just thought why not try what the wine festival has to offer?"

There were several things to do, but the reason everyone came out was to drink the wine.

"Depending on what your flavor, your taste is, and whether you like the dry wines or the sweet wines...we have something for everyone," said Orla Larsen, who works at Wiederkehr Wine Cellars.

This year, Larsen said it's easy to tell which wine is being considered a favorite. It's one of Wiederkehr's newest: Strawberry Alpine.

"It's lightly sweet, made with strawberries in it," said Larsen. "It's lightly carbonated. It's just really nice to drink. So everybody's really liking it."

Villines liked Strawberry Alpine enough that she took a bottle home with her.

"It is kind of sweet," Villines said. "It's like a strawberry, fizzy, carbonated beverage. And it was great!"
